Skype had published the source code for encoding audio SILK that using the skype program to the conversation .

According to the declaration that the audio codic SILK was the result of three years of development , which has a high potenial of improvement and the pressure to be used in communications , even under weak communication infrastructure .

It also uses the amount of 50% less data to be transferred over the network compared with the pervious notation .
